Hiking with the Wilderness Women

This past June the gals from my church along with some other friends, planned a hiking trip. We camped out for 3 nights, 1 in a campground and 2 in forest service cabins along the trail, and hiked 17 miles, from one side of the mountain to the other. We had a great time! There were 11 gals, teenaged to 60's. I took so many pictures...I will try and to choose just a few. I'm going to try and send you to a link so you can go through and view for yourselves.

The gals on the trail, I'm bringing up the end, getting used to my heavy pack.

Winding trail and bear piles. Makes one a bit leery of what's around the next bend.

In a field of purple lupines were these pink ones. The only pink ones around.

One of the gals husband flew in to the cabin we stayed at and brought us some milk and brownies.

Grass was tall and the gals were singing songs to keep the bears away.

The cabin we stayed at the first night is at the point of this water across the lake.

We had a few stream crossings. This is Michelle, she was my "tent and food buddy". She got all the food together and had everything we needed. I just had to show up and be the pack mule. :)

Our next cabin we stayed at on the far end of the lake. It was 5 miles from the first cabin.

The water and colors were so awesome. We saw some bears on the opposite side of the lake thankfully. We also saw some sheep and goats.

Snow slide!!!!

The gals hiking through the brushy trail. This time they were the ones bringing up the rear. :)

To me this looked like we were going into a fairytale forest.

These were really cool flowers. I loved the color, but I don't know what they are. Any ideas?

Ferns! a whole island full of them. Love them. I had a really good trip hiking.   Made some new friends and bonded with old ones.
